Nabiax, the leading company in the data center industry in Spain, has announced its adherence to the Climate Neutral Data Center Pact initiative, a pact promoted by the main players in the sector in which they commit to making all European data centers climate neutral by 2030.
The Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact (CNDCP) emerged in January 2021 as a self-regulatory measure, highlighting the industry’s commitment and responsibility to the climate challenge we face.
“Joining this initiative reinforces our commitment to sustainability and the initiatives we have around carbon footprint reduction and the use of renewable energy sources, which, in the case of our Data Centers, is 100%. We continue to work on our ESG strategy, moving towards a greener future and towards achieving a sustainable digital transformation” explains Emilio Diaz, CEO of Nabiax.
With the addition of data center operators and industry associations, the pact now has more than 100 member companies, which are committed to meeting common goals in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable and carbon-free energy, consumption, water reuse and reuse of emitted heat.
This self-regulation initiative, which has been developed in cooperation with the European Commission, supports both the European Green Pact, which aims to make Europe the world’s first climate-neutral continent by 2050, and the European Data Strategy, making EU data centers climate-neutral by 2030.
Along these lines, Nabiax continues to work to maintain the highest sustainability standards, such as the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certificate and LEED certification for the Alcalá de Henares center or the BREEAM seal for its headquarters.
