Nabiax, the company which offers Colocation services in Spain, Latin America and USA, recently had its Paine Data Center (Chile) certified Tier III Gold Operational Sustainability by Uptime Institute, for complying to the maximum standards of sustainable operation.
This certification reflects the top quality in the operation of the mission critical infrastructure. This guarantees a maximum service quality and availability for the clients hosted there, alongside the best practices in the industry, which implies adopting excellent operative processes directly related to a Data Center’s management.
TCOS Gold (Tier Certification Operational Sustainability) is the highest level granted by Uptime Institute, which identifies and evaluates the risks and subjacent behavior of a Data Center; especially those not related to design and building of the infrastructure, but that can a significant impact in the service availability in the long term.
Besides, Paine Data Center finds itself in an expansion process, to overcome the 2 MW IT Power capacity, which will be executed by building 2 new IT Rooms. Nabiax invested 4 million USD in this project.
Francisco Hernández, Data Center Manager in Chile at Nabiax, stated: “This certification reflects the great job made by our team in Paine Data Center. To achieve it, we have worked for a whole year in the creation of optimal operative models, policies, and management programs, besides every reform necessary within the organization and its operative structure. All this has been executed to meet the TCOS requirements and keep our commitment towards offering the best service quality to our clients”.
Moreover, Hernández highlighted the relevance of this milestone in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic: “In terms of Data Center operations this past year has been extremely demanding. It is true that the industry has been acknowledged for its necessary role worldwide, but also, we have been put under a greater pressure, as Data Center services have been demanded in higher levels than usual. Because of this, obtaining this certification shows the operations team’s effort to meet the needs of our clients”.
Today, only 5 Data Centers in Chile have this certification besides Paine Data Center.
