Nabiax, the leading company in the data center industry in Spain, has renewed the Tier IV Gold Certification for Operational Sustainability (TCOS) from the Uptime Institute for the first phase of its data center campus in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), by meeting the highest standards of sustainable operation.
This certification confirms that Nabiax offers the highest operational quality to the customers housed in this center, by meeting the highest standards of data center operation. TCOS Gold (Tier Certification Operational Sustainability) is the Uptime Institute’s highest level of certification, which identifies and evaluates the underlying risks and behaviors in a data center; especially those elements that are beyond the scope of the design and construction of the infrastructure, but that can have a significant impact on its long-term availability.
César Merino, Data Center Manager at Nabiax, pointed out that “the renewal of this certification highlights the great work of the Nabiax operations team at the Alcalá data center. We have worked to maintain the demanding levels of operating models, policies and management programs requested by the Uptime Institute, updating the necessary points in our operation to maintain this recognition. All this, in order to comply with the highest standards and continue to guarantee the commitment we have with our customers: to offer them the highest quality of service in our infrastructures”.
To date, this is the only colocation data center awarded this Uptime Institute certification in Spain.
The Alcalá Data Center campus has two phases. ADC1, which has Tier IV certification, with 7.9 MW of IT power; and ADC2, Tier III standard, with 14.4 MW of IT power dedicated to hyperscalers. In the medium term, the Alcalá de Henares data center campus will reach 100 MW of IT power (135 MW total), being the reference for hyperscalers in Spain, with a success based on the quality of the infrastructure and service offered, the latest technology on the market and a fast deployment speed.
